Terms and Conditions
Last updated: May 2025
This is the part of the website that usually reads like it was written by a lawyer who has never met a human. We’ve done our best to make it readable. These Terms of Use govern your access to The Good Gather and thegoodgathercollective.com — the website, the virtual world on Rippily, and everything in between. By joining or using our platform, you’re agreeing to what’s here.
<p>If something doesn’t make sense or you have questions, reach out. We’re real people and we’re happy to talk
Who we are
The Good Gather is a virtual community and co-working platform operated by Create the Rules. We’re based in Canada. When these Terms say “we,” “us,” or “our,” that’s us.
Your membership
Membership in The Good Gather is $499 per year and gives you access to all Gathers, all rooms, and all community spaces on Rippily. Your membership is personal to you — it’s not transferable and cannot be shared with others.
<p>Memberships renew annually. You’ll receive notice before your renewal date. If you choose not to renew, your access ends at the close of your current membership period.
<p>We reserve the right to adjust pricing at renewal with advance notice to members.
What you can do here
As a member, you can attend Gathers and Workshops, host your own Gathers, connect with other members, and contribute to the community. You can also apply to offer Workshops with an additional fee, subject to our hosting guidelines.
You’re here to be in community. Everything you do inside The Good Gather should be consistent with that.
What you can’t do here
A few things that are genuinely not okay:
You can’t use The Good Gather to solicit, spam, or pitch other members without their consent.
You can’t record or share sessions without explicit permission from participants.
You can’t post, share, or promote content that is abusive, discriminatory, deceptive, or harmful.
You can’t use the platform for any unlawful purpose.
We take this seriously. Violations may result in removal from the community, without refund.
If you’re unsure whether something crosses a line, read our Code of Conduct. When in doubt, ask us.
Hosting and Workshops
When you host a Gather, you’re agreeing to show up as stated and create a space that reflects the values of this community.
When you offer a Workshop with an additional fee, The Good Gather retains 15% for administration and promotion. The remaining amount is paid to you according to our standard payment schedule. You’re responsible for the content, delivery, and any commitments you make to participants.</p>
<p>We reserve the right to decline to list or remove any Workshop that doesn’t align with our community standards.
Your content
Anything you post, share, or create inside The Good Gather — messages, session recordings you make available, resources you share — remains yours. By sharing it, you give us permission to display it within the platform for community purposes. We won’t sell your content or use it for anything outside The Good Gather without asking you first.
We do collect certain usage data to help us understand how the community is showing up and to improve the experience. This is covered in more detail in our Privacy Policy.
Our content
The website, the brand, the copy, the structure, the materials we’ve created — all of it is ours or properly licensed to us. You’re welcome to share content from us with credit and a link back. You’re not welcome to copy it wholesale, rebrand it, or repurpose it commercially without permission.
Things we can’t promise
We genuinely love what we’re building here. And we also want to be straight with you: we can’t guarantee that the community will be exactly what you need at every moment. Virtual communities are living things. They change. People come and go. Sessions land differently on different days.
We can’t promise uninterrupted access to the platform. Rippily, our virtual world host, operates independently and may occasionally experience downtime. We’ll communicate what we can, when we can.
We’re not responsible for the content of hosted sessions, external links shared by members, or outcomes resulting from connections made in the community.
Refunds
Membership fees are generally non-refundable. If you have a specific circumstance you’d like us to consider, reach out and we’ll have a real conversation about it. We’re not interested in keeping money from someone who genuinely couldn’t make the community work for them.
Ending your membership
You can cancel your membership at any time by contacting us. Access continues through the end of your paid membership period.
We may suspend or remove a membership if someone is found to be in serious violation of these Terms or our Code of Conduct. In those cases, refunds are at our discretion
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. When we do, we’ll update the date at the top and let members know. Continued use of the platform after an update means you’ve accepted the new terms.
Questions?
This page is not the end of the conversation. If you have questions about anything here, <a href=”/contact”>reach out to us directly</a>. We read every message.
